How to Set up a Cox Email Account?

Cox communications offer free to email for business users that purchase a high-speed internet package. Cox gives support to download email messages to Microsoft outlook. By setting up Outlook, you can ignore the need to log in to Cox webmail to check your mail. You have to use the correct server name for incoming and outgoing messages and properly configure Outlook to use the proper security settings.

Below are the Steps to Set up a Cox Email Account:

Launch Outlook and click the file tab. If the Microsoft outlook startup wizard appears, click on cancel to exit the wizard.
Select add account in the account info section.
Click manually configure server settings and tap the next button.
Then select the internet email radio button and click next.
Complete the required fields under the user info section which includes your name and your complete email address with the @cox.net extension.
Then Select POP3 from the drop-down in the server information section. Then Type ‘pop.cox.net’ in the incoming mail server field and ‘smtp.cox.net’ in the outgoing.
Enter your full Cox email address and password in the login section. Look the check box if you want Outlook to remember your password. Do not see the option you want to require login using SPA.
Click the more settings button.
Click the Advanced tab and select SSL in the server port numbers section for the outgoing server. Enter 465 for SSL encryption. Check the check box for the server needs an encrypted connection. Select SSL and ensure the port is 995.
Click next and then click finish.
